The American Dream

========This is for all of those that know who I am and know about my situation (but everyone is welcome to read.========

A lot of you keep asking me why do I bother, why don’t I go back where I came from, that I would be happier there.
But the truth is, I was never happy there to begin with. I was always different that everyone else.

My life changed completely when I first came to the United States and enrolled here in High School. No one cared who I was, where I came from, or what my hobbies are. There were always people aroind that I could fit in with. But most of all, I loved how people were independent and free. Everyone could do what they wanted and what made them happy. But the thing that instantly got me hooked: I was almost instantly accepted…even tho I was new, foregin, had a slight studder, and a weird and messed up household. I was amazed…and no matter how bad things were…most people didn’t care, because they didn’t judge me for that, they only cared about who I was.

Eben tho I originaly still didn’t like the idea of leaving my homeland behind and to be honest I still miss it, but I don’t miss living there anymore.

A lot of people I know now would tell me: “You are crazy! Life in Europe is amazing! And not to mention you have familiy there!” Well let me tell you something: Europe is a place with a lot of history (good and bad), beautiful arhitecture, amazing natural sites, beautiful people (so I’m told), some of the best parties around, you can get practicaly anywhere without a car (bus and train), and good cars (German cars…can’t beat them! :P). So what’s wrong then? No issues so far right? Well: the people aren’t open minded, you are judged if you don’t fit in, and once you do something wrong in your life, it will haunt you forever (especially in my small country), and moving somewhere new is hard since…well….it’s not like everyone in Europe speaks one language. Also a lot of times people don’t support you when you want to do something. Why do you think there aren’t as many European actors as there are American ones is a good example.
All this things might not seem really solid to everyone but I just can’t find the right words to express myself.

Now let’s talk a little bit about my family. Now just like any normal person I love and miss my family, but let me say a little fact that I learned from life: “You can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family.” My entire family is completely broken from all sides, no one talkes to each other anymore, everyone gets’s on everyones nerves, and more than half of my family is either devorced or not really as happy as they could be. It’s not something I want to go back too at all. And I’m not the only one with a family like this.

I could also talk about economy and the difference in the standard of living but I’m gonna make it shord: It’s easier to survive in the United States.

So why is this titled “The American Dream”? Well…through out the two yeard of living here I met a lot of Americans that kept saying how they hate living in the States and how they want to move away, how everything is dull and boring. Somehow I think a lot of Americans drifted away from the whole concept of the American Dream, where everyone can be what they want to be, and not be judged for it. It’s about being happy the by being who you are and not what others want you to be, while always having a chance to survive because of the lowers requirements of survival. And I feel like it’s only us foreigners that see that these days because we try so hard to stay here while everyone else tryes to leave.

What happened to me isn’t my fault, I never wanted this. But I won’t sit by and sacrifice everything for the mistakes made by the adults is my life.

The American Dream is still alive, that’s why I’m here, that’s why I want to stay, and I want to live it with all the people that made me realize that, and that have suported me in one way or a nother through this.

(When I finished writing this I went through this and I just hope you’ll understand what I’m trying to say)

Think with your own mind (Part 2) – Religion & Beliefs

Ok this is gonna be a short one because it’s diffidently a fact that if you do not follow god and his rules by the very last drop of ink you will GO TO HELL!!!! NOW DROP DOWN AND GIVE ME 5 PRAYERS……….I’m just kidding.

But you would be surprised how some people take their religion seriously. And when it comes to parents and their kids, you usually aren’t allowed to choose for yourself. As we all know, religion is a very big topic in this world…you have many different religions (some of which you never even heard off) and then you have even more branches of those religions.

I mean just look at Christianity…just the protestants have sooooo many different branches by themselves. And a lot of times, different branches of the same religion don’t agree and even fight with each other (like the muslims do with the Shia and the Suni branch), or different religions fight with each other (geez where should i begin with that…..).

But what most people fail to understand is that when you are a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim,or a part of any other religion that worships one god…a lot of people fail to understand one thing: IT’S THE SAME GOD!!!!!!!!! YOU ALL WORSHIP THE SAME GOD!!!!!! All the wars, all the fighting, all the pain……..all because you don’t want to accept that you all worship the same god, but you choose to follow different rules. But I know that some religions such as the Buddhists and other religions that like it don’t have a god…that’s different when it comes to this topic. Anyway…kiss and make up!

Now that I got that out of my system….let’s get back to what we were originally going to talk about.

When you are born to this world you are usually going to be born under one of two circumstances: Religions or non religious parents. Usually when you are born under religious parents you will be brought up to be a good Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc…you get the point…and will come to love the religion as you grow up…not exactly what I would call freedom of religion but hey….if you don’t hate it I guess it’s okay. But what happens when a child starts to rebel or even worse…starts thinking about a different religion. What happens when all of a sudden, the teachings of his parent’s that they sooooo love to preach suddenly doesn’t want to be accepted by their child? Well……in most cases it’s not gonna be a easy path to take that i can guarantee….some parent’s tend to accept the fact but a lot of times…….not gonna happen. Usually there is a lot of fighting, arguing, pain, and temporary separation included.

Now….what happens when….you are born under a family….that does not follow any religion…and then all of a sudden….one or both of your parents decide to be a part of one…and force you to follow it too….let that be that they tell you straight or they imply it as house rules.

All of a sudden, you’re not allowed to do things that you were usually allowed to do, your friends are wrong, your f

un is suddenly bad……and the worst part is you don’t believe in what they do. That kind of thing happened to me. I was 15 years old when my mother went from being no religion to being a full on Muslim. And slowly she started trying to force her beliefs on me….some rules were straight religious while others were/are implemented as house rules, and the Islamic way of life was the only right way to live… because if not i will go to hell…no questions asked. Suddenly my way of life wasn’t good and the worse part it I couldn’t do anything about it….except hide my secrets from my mom (and my parents have been divorced for a long time so at least i got some support from my dad on my decisions.

You see I am agnostic…I don’t deny god’s existence but i also don’t follow any religious rules. I follow moral rules and at the same time I want to enjoy life (especially my youth) while I still can. I don’t believe that i will go to hell if I drink at a party or have sex with a girl….as long as she wasn’t forced….and of course don’t do drugs!

What I think is that every parent should let their child grow up to a certain age, and then start teaching them about their beliefs, but also always make them feel like if they don’t like it, or if they want to “switch” religions, that they should be able to do so without regret.

AND THE SAME GOES FOR VEGETARIAN PARENTS WHO FORCE THEIR CHILDREN TO NO EAT MEAT BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE AND THEY SAY THAT IT’S NOT OKAY!
I’m not saying that being a vegetarian is bad….but you can’t force someone in to something and you should give them a option to choose…tell them why you think eating meat is bad, and if they agree…they do….if not….they don’t….deal with it!

That’s it for this weeks major post. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

If you like the topics i poste please make sure to share my blog with your friends, and if you disagree you are more than welcome to leave a comment or send a angry letter and I will respond to it a polite way.

Think with your own mind (Part 1) – Career

Are you a good child? Have you been doing everything that your family tells you to do, because they want the best for you and want you to be happy? If yes then you’re someone who they are probably really proud off.

But now I have another question….are you happy? Is everything you’re putting effort in really what you want? Are the beliefs and ambitions of your family something that you believe in?

Now let me start off the topic by saying that this is a little something I decided to write because of the things that happened (and are happening) to me in my life. This is not a topic where I’m telling you to not listen to adults, because that would be stupid!

What I’m going to be talking about today is what parents and adults in families tend to do to the children, that in reality they should let the kid choose.

Parents have a obligation to make sure their children grow up to be good members of society, to provide them with a home, food, love, care, education, lectures, etc. But the problem is that sometimes parents and family tend to make decisions that affect their kids lives even if they like it or not. The cause of that can be many different reasons:

  • they want their child to be successful
  • they want their child to be something that they couldn’t be
  • they want their child to have a lot of money
  • they want to show off success and class
  • they believe it’s what their child want’s (and needs)
  • etc. (you get the idea)

But sometimes, being successful in life and have a lot of money isn’t exactly what everyone wants. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying people want to be poor and miserable all their lives no…I never said that (I’m a person who want’s a normal life and earn enough money to support a family in the future), but sometimes, your children don’t want what you want. Adults have a tendency to go against a their child and his wishes, because it isn’t the same as theirs.

An example would be: A boy really want’s to play soccer. His dad was a football player and therefore he wants his son to play football. The boy doesn’t like football but he isn’t getting much of a choice, because his father will press on him to play a sport he doesn’t want to play, instead of playing the sport he loves.

A different example is career choice. Where I come from you usually don’t have until the end of High School to chose a path, but you are given the option to chose a career specific high school (anything form Medical High school to Electronic high school), which makes a lot of us choose what to do at the age of 14-15, and not at the age of 18. A good example for this is someone I know. She wanted to become a school teacher. She was admitted to a school specificity for that because of her good grades and referrals from her teachers because they knew she would make a excellent teacher. Her mom believed that that wasn’t a good enough job for her, and she forced her to to law school (she gave her a choice to go to law school or she’d “give up on her”). Now when you live in the US and you’re 18 you almost wouldn’t care as much….but a 15 year old kid with that kind of decision….yea we all know what’s gonna happen. She didn’t like law school…and she never graduated from Law College either because of it.

So what’s the main point of this? Do what makes you happy! Pursue what you want in life (and i’m not saying to take it easy and flip burgers for the rest of your life….unless it makes you happy…which would be kinda hard to believe….but ok). If you want to be a teacher, be a teacher! You like cars and you want to work on cars for the rest of your life…do that! You want to be a cook, puppet master, actor, artist, dance, singer, rapper, scientist, politician, doctor, dentist, mall cop, special agent……whatever! You get the basic idea now…and the same goes for sports!

Do what makes YOU HAPPY…BUT DON’T SLACK OFF AND DO NOTHING…I’m not saying not to be productive in life either,

Okay that’s it for now. Considering this turned out to be waaaaaaay longer than I hoped I’m going to split this topic in 2 or 3 different posts (that are going to be shorter since this also had the introduction in it).

Have fun everyone and I’ll see you next time with the second part of this little topic that is gonna piss off a lot of parents that are gonna read this.

And we’re LIVE….well…..kind off ^_^

Yeeeeeeees my dear readers (if I even have any)! Today is the day that I finally made my first official Vlog on my YouTube channel.
It took me a while to get my lazy but out and record it, but I finally did….so there you go.

Now for all of you who think that I am going to switch from Blogging to Vlogging you can relax because that is not the case. The Blog here and the YouTube channel will be similar to each other but at the same time they will be different.  Everything posted on the Blog here will be introduced in a Video, but redirected here for the full topic.

I would also like to point out that there will be some things that I will post on the YouTube page that won’t be available in full length here, but on the video….basically the Blog and the YouTube page kind off compliment each other in a way.

I’m also working on getting a new blogging camera for better quality, so that i don’t have to use my laptop for recording videos.

Enjoy.

Trolls be trolling mon! 4.1 is here :)

Da time to unleash da voodoo has come! Let da powah of da godz and da spirits of ouah ancestors rage upon…….I’m sorry I can’t write in trollish XD

So as you probably guessed it, today I’m gonna write about the 4.1 Patch of the World Of Warcraft Cataclysm  Expansion.
4.1 brings back the mighty troll faction of the Zandalari, who seek to unite the troll factions and build back the once powerful troll empire. With Zul’Drak under the influence of the undead Scourge (and a place that a lot of people don’t even wanna be in), Zul’Farrak

nothing more but a wasteland in Tanaris (that is being pulverized by over geared lvl 40-50 with a occasional high level friend that just facerolls the instance),
the Zandalari seek to unite the troll factions and take them back to the defeated lands of Zul’Gurub and Zul’Aman, and restore the once mighty troll empire, and crush everyone in their path. While the Gurubashi and the Amani eager to join this new troll crusade on the world, Vol’jin of the Darkspear tribe refuses to so abandon the Horde and and send his people in to war.

Apart form the two “new” 5-man instances (that were revamped from the old 40-man and 25-man raids) that Blizzard is calling new content, 4.1 also will not bring us the promised Fire Lands, or the long awaited new instance in Vash’ir, that was supposed to be released at launch (as you’ve all probably guessed by now). Let’s not forget that the two “new” 5-man instances will be offering EPIC items….oh god here we go again….“Hey everyone! I just dinged yesterday and I’m almost FULL EPIC GEARED! I DESERVE TO GO IN TO RAIDS!!!!”

What else….we have a improved Dungeon fighter with extra rewards for the most needed class (a.k.a. tanks…maybe healers at some point), the ability to get all your weekly Valor
points out of heroics in one day if you so desire (instead of doing one a day).

Apart from the improved Dungeon Finder, we also get the a new feature called the Guild Finder, which has been DRASTICALLY improved since it’s original PTR vesrion, but it could still use a little upgrade….let’s saaaaay….the ability for guild leaders to add a questions that the people who wish to join need to answer…like a sign up form (which would save everyone a lot of time so they don’t have to go register on forums, search for the sign up form, copy it, make a new post, etc…..you get the idea!)

The only other thing really worth writing in length are the new plate tanking heirlooms that have come out for all those who wish to level a new character and

it happens to be a plate tank….well here you are. It’s not like it’s actually gonna make a big difference, since people have been leveling tanks with the DPS gear…..but hey…..whatever makes you happy. The new heirlooms consist of the helm, shoulders, back, chest, sword, and apparently pants…which according to MMO-Champion, are still not in the game. Also considering the fact that we are getting tanking pants, it has been confirmed that the rest of the heirlooms will also get pants in the future.

The rest of the changes….ummm….let’s see:

  • Guilds get weekly objectives that will allow them level up faster (i think)
  • new Archeology items
  • new underwater mount that can be used outside of Vash’ir as well
  • Winged Guardian Mount available in the Blizzard Store
  • Target position on the mini map (FIIINALY!!! But it makes me think that it might be a little OP in Arenas)
  • New fishing and cooking quests
  • a sh*t load of class changes that you can read about in the patch notes or on MMO-Champion
  • Doubled rate of Honor Point gain

And some more stuff that you can read up in the patch notes…sorry but I’m to lazy to write everything that I don’t really care about ^_^

As far as “new” content and new stuff…….4.1 is probably the worst x.1 patch in the history of World Of Warcraft…..and I’m not the one who did the research on that one, this discovery was made by the one and only TotalBiscuit, in a recent episode of BluePlz…and I completely agree with him…
So get your voodoo on and get ready to see n00bs in full epic gear running around screaming EPIC, because patch 4.1 is here!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

Today I’m gonna post a little bit about Easter (or as we call it in my country: The Big Night), what it means to people and what it means to people like me. This post was inspired by a friend of mine who wished me Happy Easter today and then added: “Remember, easter is not about the bunny, it’s about Jesus.“, and me not being a Christian (nor anything else for that matter) got me thinking.

As we all know, Easter is a Christian holiday to celebrate the resurrection of  Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. The customs of the celebration are decorating and eating

hard boiled eggs, which is a symbol of the rebirth of the earth in celebrations of spring, and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus.

But not everyone celebrates Easter because of it’s religious meaning. People like me, who don’t really belong to any religion but do not deny gods existence (also known as Agnostic) are  celebrate Easter and Christmas for other reasons.

People like me celebrate holidays like this because it makes the children  happy and brings all the family together and socialize. The idea of coloring easter eggs is a good way for parents and mostly grandparents to socialize with their children/grandchildren, and a good way for kids to bring out their creative side in a fun way (ex.: In kindergarten and 1st-4th grade, we used to color eggs in class and had them on display…..the eggs were hollowed out first tho).
Yes I will agree that the whole easter presents and the “easter bunny” idea are a way for companies to earn money….but you know what….it’s fun and it adds something fun for everyone to do. It made me happy as a child and I bet it makes many children happy now especially those who don’t have a lot of things to look forward to.

Also a interesting custom where I come form is that every Easter, we bake (or buy) a cake like bread pastry with walnut filling…I couldn’t find a translation for it but we call it potica. I did a little (and I mean a little) research on the whole thing and i didn’t see it being

mentioned anywhere as far as religion goes, and we also server a large variety of dry meat (lamb, pork, etc.) and horse radish.

So in conclusion, what this post was basically about is that Easter is a religious celebration but for a lot of people, it doesn’t represent a religious meaning at all, but a a event where families come together and socialize every once in a while……or both!

I hope you enjoyed this little blog post,
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
